I am NOT Invisible

We are NOT invisible!

Endometriosis is affecting the lives of women, girls and gender diverse people all across our beautiful city. Estimates suggest that as many as 50,000 people could have endometriosis in Ottawa alone. People with endometriosis spend on average 5 years waiting for a diagnosis. In the meantime, many continue to have their symptoms brushed off or minimized by healthcare professionals and the medical system at large. This leaves many feeling alone, misunderstood and invisible. This month as we come together for Endometriosis Awareness Month, we want you to know that you are NOT invisible and NOT alone. The I am NOT Invisible campaign is an opportunity for us to share our experiences and open a dialogue. These are our stories.

Still in pain every day of my life – trying nerve block injections and on Norethindrone to try and suppress the pain.

The collage below is just a few of our many stories. At the bottom of each picture is a name (hyperlinked) which takes you to their bio – their journey – dealing with endometriosis.
